The Energy Efficiency Engineer is responsible for delivering the technical analysis and understanding of the initiatives required to support the improvement in Energy Efficiency. You will work closely with ship staff & shore-based stakeholders to ensure an accurate understanding of the current energy baseline is developed. You will advise and lead on the effective changes required to the operation of our ships relating to the fuel consumption and energy efficiency.
• Support and manage projects related to energy efficiency on board all ships of the fleet, with a particular focus on the Hotel Energy management.
• Support the Energy Efficiency Department in choosing the best technological solutions to be installed both on board ships and in the Terminals related to sources of renewable Energy
• Advise and lead necessary changes in operation of existing ships including but not limited to the fuel consumption performance and energy efficiency projects.
• Assist the planning, preparation & project management for the Hotel Energy management: establishing and understanding an Energy Consumption Baseline.
• Use this baseline, and is supported by the current performance analytical tools, identifying, and making decisions on the most appropriate Energy efficiency initiatives.
• Cooperate with other departments to monitor, analyse and report of Fleet performance related to the optimization of the fuel consumption.
• Fluent English, verbal and written. Other languages are a benefit.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering or equivalent in a suitable technical discipline.
• Experience within the Maritime industry, preferably within the Cruise sector
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in an Electrical Engineering function, preferably within an Energy Efficiency position
• Knowledge of medium and low voltage electricity generation and regulation systems and Knowledge of Energy Storage Systems.
• Knowledge of Converters and Control Drivers, of Shore Connection Plants and of the reference Standards for the Maritime/Port Sector.
• Knowledge of the structure and implications Flag State, USCG and IMO rules and regulations, relating to Energy Efficiency / Carbon consumption.
• Experience in analytics to support the technical decision making.
• Experience in budget management and Project Management for technical project delivery.
